Cathedral Cove

Where does the bus leave from?
All day free parking is available at the Hahei Visitor Car Parklocated on Hahei Beach Road. This large car park is on the right as you enter Hahei, you can’t miss it, it’s well sign posted. Hot Water Beach

The natural springs can be found on the beach opposite the off-shore rocks (a location map is displayed at the beach entrance). Visitors dig a hole in the sand and hot water bubbles to the surface. The water, with a temperature as hot as 64 °C (147 °F), filters up from two underground fissures located close to each other.
Best time to visit Hot Water Beach:
Within two hours either side of low tide. This is when the hot springs are most accessible for digging your own spa pool in the sand. New Chum Beach

How to get there?
It is a 30 minute drive north to Whangapoua fromBaileys At The Beach Motel. From here, make your way to the northern end of Whangapoua Beach and park your vehicle at the designated parking area. Head along north of Whangapoua Beach. There is an estuary to cross, walk around the rocks of the coastal track. You will then come to a 'saddle' (a walk way over land), follow the track which will lead you onto the sands of New Chum Beach. Bliss!Matarangi Beach
地址: Matarangi Beach, Waikato, New Zealand .A 25min drive north from Baileys At The Beach Motel, before reaching Whangapoua. Matarangi's main attraction is the 4 km long white sand ocean beach which provides safe swimming all year round and surfing when the conditions are right. Beach access is from Kenwood Drive which leads to the Village Green with picnic facilities and a playground or from Ocean Close. The harbour also offers swimming, boating, kite surfing, fishing and bird watching, with an upgraded boat ramp, boat parking and picnic area. Occupying the scenic end of the sand spit ″the pines″ is "The Dunes", a Bob Charles-designed championship eighteen-hole golf course with a licensed club house, restaurant and pro shop. There is also a bowling green and there are several public tennis courts in the town.
The small shopping centre has a Four Square store (small supermarket), liquor outlet, cafe (Pipers Cafe), gift store and two real estate agencies.
Take a walk on the beach, go for a swim and stop by Pipers Cafe for a coffee or light meal.
Kuaotunu Beach
地址: Kūaotunu, New Zealand .A 16 minute drive from Baileys At The Beach Motel. Stop on your way back from beach hopping for a yummy ice cream at Kuaotunu Store or drop into Lukes Kitchen for lunch or dinner, best pizzas on the east coast.
While you're here take a drive over Black Jack Road to Otama Beach (9 min drive), absolutely jewel of a beach with white sand and teal sea. From here continue to Opito Bay (9 min drive). Opito Bay is a secluded white sandy beach great for swimming and snorkeling.
To the southern end of Opito Beach you can walk to Crayfish Bay (via Opito Pa) a stunning horse shoe shaped bay with turquoise waters and rock pools, ideal for snorkeling. With steps and a fence to climb this walk is not suitable for pushchairs.
Directions: From Kūaotunu turn off SH25 on to Black Jack Road and follow the sealed road through to Otama. Here the road will continue on as a gravel road where you will arrive at Opito Bay. Continue on to the road end where you will find a carpark.
Coromandel Township

Coromandel Township a quaint little historical town with unique attractions, cafes and restaurants. Stroll down the main street and explore the local art and craft stores, take a break at a cafe, sit back with a coffee or enjoy some local cuisine at one of Coromandel's towns restaurants.
Take a train ride through the forest at Driving Creek Railroad or for the more adventurous take a zipline through the trees.
A fun 'must do' is a visit to the Waterworks Park with all its fun and quirky activities. The whole family will enjoy this one!

How to get there? From Baileys At The Beach Motel, walk (20 mins), drive (3 mins) or hire our bikes (5 mins) and head on down to the Whitianga wharf, jump on the ferry (a very short 3 minute trip) across to Ferry Landing Wharf.

Cooks Beach is a beautiful crescent shaped white sandy beach, stretching approx. 3 kms. The long and lovely sandy beach which caught Captain Cook's eye is today a beach resort with Cooks Beach accommodation, cafe and a shopping centre. The beach is safe for family swimming. The adjacent Purangi Estuary has an excellent trailer boat launching area.
Maramaratotara Bay (Front Beach)
Less than a 5-minute walk from the ferry and is an absolutely stunning white sand beach. It has pohutukawas providing shade, is great for swimming and is the perfect place to spend a day at the beach. Highly recommended by Baileys At The Beach Motel staff.Lonely Bay (you can walk down from the Shakespeare Reserve) is a highlight of the area. Across the estuary the new Stella Evered Park has two beaches and the stream where Cook refilled his water barrels. Access to the park is from Lees Road.
Located between Cooks Beach and Flaxmill Bay is Shakespeare's Cliff, an interesting scenic reserve. A very short track leads to a vantage point with memorable views of Mercury Bay. At the site a cairn records the arrival in 1769 of the HMS Endeavour under the command of Lieutenant Captain Cook.
Go for a swim, go for a walk, go for a bike ride and check out the local cuisine at one of the cosy cafes.

Otama Beach

Gorgeous golden sand squeaks when walked on, the colour of the sea is a glistening teal turquoise. The beach is a very good swimming beach, occasionally with good conditions for surfing. The north-facing 2 km long white-sand beach is backed by a large protected natural dune system, separating it from the road and farm land beyond. Access is via Black Jack Road, starting from State Highway 25 at Kūaotunu (9 min drive) which is sealed up to the start of Otama Beach. It continues as a gravel road further east towards Opito Bay (9 min drive)

A 35 minute drive from Baileys At The Beach Motel. Gorgeous golden sand squeaks when walked on, the colour of the sea is a glistening teal turquoise. The beach is a very good swimming beach, occasionally with good conditions for surfing. The north-facing 2 km long white-sand beach is backed by a large protected natural dune system, separating it from the road and farm land beyond. Access is via Black Jack Road, starting from State Highway 25 at Kūaotunu (9 min drive) which is sealed up to the start of Otama Beach. It continues as a gravel road further east towards Opito Bay (9 min drive)Opito Bay & Crayfish Bay Located at the southern end of the Kūaotunu Peninsula and 25 min drive from Baileys At The Beach Motel. Opito Bay (9 mins beyond Otama) is a secluded white sandy beach great for swimming and snorkeling.To the southern end of Opito Beach you can walk to Crayfish Bay (a 10 min walk over farmland) a stunning horseshoe shaped bay with turquoise waters and rock pools, ideal for snorkeling. Directions: From Kūaotunu turn off SH25 on to Black Jack Road and follow the sealed road through to Otama. Here the road will continue on as a gravel road where you will arrive at Opito Bay. Continue on to the road end where you will find a carpark, where you can commence the short walk to Crayfish Bay.
